KAZ Minerals corporate values competition

KAZ Minerals upholds its corporate values of safety, integrity, teamwork, professional development and long-term efficiency. These are principles by which we seek to conduct our business, guide our decision-making and how we monitor our performance. These values are at the heart of our culture and are embraced at every level.

Since 2016, the Group has held an annual competition on corporate values among its employees with the purpose of reinforcing these values throughout the organisation. Employees are invited to submit innovative projects which have developed and improved the Group’s operations in accordance with the corporate values, either as individuals or as a group.

In 2022, the corporate values awards ceremony was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, allowing participants to meet in person for the first time since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic. 55 projects were shortlisted across the Group’s five corporate values, and competitors and guests took part in an exciting two-day programme. Bringing representatives together from across the KAZ Minerals Group was an exciting opportunity to create a platform for sharing ideas and best practices with colleagues from different production sites.

“I learned about many interesting projects that can be implemented at my site. I’ve discussed with my site colleagues and shared the ideas from the competition. In my daily routine, I am usually focused on the completion of everyday production tasks. It’s very useful for those who work on production to attend such events, they give you a great impetus to set new goals. I got a powerful boost of energy and many new ideas came to me”, said Nurbol Azhinov, Head of the Irtyshsky mine at East Region.
