'GOAL ZERO' LAUNCHED

In June 2019 the Board and senior management committed to the Group's 'Goal Zero' initiative.

The programme states that “Our leaders openly and visibly demonstrate an unrelenting passion and commitment towards the well-being of our employees and environment”. The official ceremony to mark the launch of 'Goal Zero' took place in Nur-Sultan during the June meeting of the HSE Committee. 

The Goal Zero programme is based on six principles:  

1. All managers have promised to provide their support and commitment to zero injuries and put all the necessary resources in place to achieve this goal
2. Use of reliable and sustainable safety management systems - undertake prompt training based on previous experience, e.g. 'SLAM' system and 'Learning from previous incidents'
3. Continuous employee training and development
4. Senior management to provide support to employees on issues related to occupational health & safety and environmental protection
5. Supervisors are to be deeply involved in safety campaigns, monitoring and supporting
6. KAZ Minerals employees will always make a choice in favour of safety.  

KAZ Minerals' primary asset is its people. The 'Goal Zero' programme aims to provide safe working conditions for all employees of the Group, to avoid injuries and accidents. 'Goal Zero' covers industrial safety, occupational safety and environmental protection.
