KAZ Minerals commissioned the second sulphide concentrator at Aktogay in October 2021, doubling the sulphide ore processing capacity at the site and continuing the Group’s track record of delivery. The Group has maintained its competitive cost position and has a portfolio of highly cash generative operating assets.
The copper market is forecast to enter a supply deficit in the medium term as output from existing mines declines and demand from traditional and new sources continues to grow.
Increased copper output is essential for the global transition to renewable energy generation and to support increased utilisation of low emission transport technologies, such as electric vehicles.
