Roman Eliasov oversees KAZ Minerals’ corporate functions, including governance, risk management, stakeholder relations, and legal affairs. With over 20 years of experience in the mining and metals sector, he brings broad expertise in corporate governance, corporate finance, conflict and crisis management, and complex cross-border transactions. He holds a Master’s degree in law from Leiden University and has led major financings, acquisitions and restructurings, integrating regulatory, commercial and legal considerations throughout.
Roman joined Kazakhmys PLC in London in 2006, progressing through corporate finance and business development roles. Following the 2014 restructuring and separation of the Kazakhmys and KAZ Minerals businesses, he was appointed Managing Director of Kazakhmys Limited, leading group-level financing and strategic projects. He subsequently held senior advisory roles focused on corporate governance, complex transactions and multi-jurisdictional frameworks, working with boards and stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, before rejoining KAZ Minerals as Chief Corporate Officer.
