Eldar Mamedov
Vice Chairman of KAZ Minerals Group and Director of Strategic Projects
Eldar Mamedov is the Vice Chairman of KAZ Minerals Group and Director of Strategic Projects.
He oversees the implementation of priority strategic initiatives of national importance for Kazakhstan, including projects aligned with the country’s national priorities and the Group’s long-term social commitments.
He graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law of Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov and completed an MBA programme at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He has been working with the Group since 1991 (with a break for studies sponsored by the Company).
From 2014 to 2026, he served as Chairman of the Management Board of KAZ Minerals Management LLP. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing a number of Group functions, including legal and government relations (GR) support for operational activities, major M&A transactions, the Group’s equity listings on Kazakhstani and international exchanges, as well as projects related to the construction and commissioning of the Bozshakol and Aktogay mining and processing complexes, among others.
He has extensive experience in engagement with the state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and has been directly involved in the development of regulatory and legislative frameworks governing business activities, including taxation, subsoil use, environmental regulation, and financial markets.
