Jonathan Rao

Appointed in February 2026. Prior to his appointment, he served as Director of the Bozshakol Concentrator.
He graduated from Curtin University (Perth, Australia) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, and a Master’s degree in Accounting.

Jonathan has extensive international experience in the mining industry and has worked at operations involved in the mining and processing of nickel, iron ore, copper, gold, lead and zinc in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Laos, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Dominican Republic.

He has held senior management positions at BHP Billiton, MMG Group, Chifeng Gold, Adriatic Metals and other companies.
He joined KAZ Minerals in 2024.
