Management of TSF impoundment structures, control of monitoring, defect identification and rectification
Act as Responsible Tailings Facility Manager (RTFE) as defined by the Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM)
Manage and coordinate activities of TSF Construction Superintendent.
Manage and coordinate activities of TSF Hydrotechnical Engineers.
Provide technical support for subordinates and develop further technical skills.
Provide operational planning for deposition and water management to concentrator operations.
Preparation of Life of Mine TSF plans.
Prepare progress reports for the higher management.
Budget control of TSF projects.
Develop and monitor Tailings Management System.
Manage monitoring and inspection reporting of the TSF.
Prepare and manage TSF risk register.
Update Emergency Response Plans as necessary, in accordance with international standards
Carry out control and management of the TSF design process, including;
Design concept review
Detailed technical review of documents
Communication with Engineer of Record and design team
Ensure reporting is of an acceptable standard and in compliance with International guidelines.
Undertake technical and constructability reviews of all designs
Review projects for TSF, dams and other corresponding structures.
Review technical results, such as proposals, reports, graphs and specifications.
Audit of construction activities.
Develop training plans for tailings operators.
REQUIREMENTS
Higher (or postgraduate) education according to the specialty in hydraulic engineering, civil engineering or engineering geology
at least 10 years experience with geotechnical and or tailings related projects
Experience of TSF design and planning
Experience in construction of civil infrastructure facilities, including design of TSF structure, performance of geotechnical survey works, geotechnical analysis, experience in supervision of earth construction and surface facilities.
Experience in performance of earth works in the field of civil engineering/ experience in working with mining equipment.
Knowledge of available techniques and solutions for optimization of procedures and techniques for soil excavation works.
Understanding of construction plans and drawings, D&B techniques, water drainage, slope stability
Good understanding of techniques for earthworks for industrial and civil purposes.
Detailed understanding of International Best Practice around the design and operation of dams and tailings storage facilities.
Knowledge of the RoK legislative and other normative acts, methodological and other materials related to production activity of the plant.
Knowledge of the basics of RoK Labor Code, HSE rules and regulations, fire safety requirements.
Ability to identify unsafe and potential hazardous/conditions.
Advanced computer skills in commercial software, such as Microsoft Office.
Ability to make detached decision, and manage conflicting priorities, as well as, effectively work with all other employees of the team of all organizational levels.
