Primary purpose of the role is to ensure that all persons conducting electrical and instrumentation work onsite are competent to do so in a safe and efficient manner
Secondary purpose is to pass on expertise (skills, experience, systems, and processes) to the National Trainers so they can become self-sufficient in maintaining a competent workforce i.e. Train the Trainers.
Coordinate, administer, manage and conduct training of E&I personnel in safe and effective maintenance at a Copper Concentrator. Including condition monitoring, installation, removal, repair and planned and unplanned maintenance of E&I items associated with all plant and equipment types.
Provide qualified instruction to reinforce training provided to E&I Team members by external training providers
Maintain an active focus on work quality and ensuring practical/field training reflects company desires to improve installation quality and longevity
Participate in inspection during major equipment works to ensure that training skills are being appropriately applied at work fronts
Coordinate training courses and activities from external providers to ensure all required training is available for E&I team
Work with E&I Technical Specialists to identify and specify appropriate training for E&I team members and develop the required technical specifications
Effectively conduct training in both a classroom (theory) and field (practical) environment. Emphasize competency assessment based on demonstrated skills.
Prepare compliance training reports, and plan training for individuals or maintenance teams in conjunction with supervisors and the planning team.
Organize competency reviews of all E&I personnel through annual assessment.
Interact with the training administration and functional departments to prepare schedules of training events and on-the-job training, as well as assessment activities, as necessary.
Provide assistance in keeping a database used for personnel records, as well as in certification, planning, scheduling and instructions.
Ensure all relevant training documentation is translated accurately by qualified translators from English into Russian (and Kazak if required)
Prepare reports on current training needs.
Develop systems and structures within the department to ensure the effective application of priorities and standards of employment training.
Work with other training specialists on issues related to the definition and review of training standards, preparation of inductions, performance of training, use of certification criteria and teaching aids.
Assist with incident investigations as and when required.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Line Manager within own competence.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Technical Trade Qualification from a recognised Institution
Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE)
Accredited Trainer & Assessor against a recognized awarding body
Experience in the maintenance of a significant number of process equipment at processing plants and metallurgy field, such as: Variable speed drives (ABB ACS preferred), Gearless Mill Drives, Cyclo-converters, PFC/Harmonic Filter Systems, SCADA.
Experience in the development of training presentations and materials on mineral processing equipment, instructions on how to teach maintenance methods, testing and monitoring the effectiveness of maintenance is desirable.
Previous work experience (at least 5 years) as a E&I maintainer of mineral processing equipment.
Experience in teaching Hazardous Area skills, qualification in either ATEX or IEC 60079.
Experience in training for Partial Discharge Testing with a focus on transformers and High Voltage equipment
Familiarity with instrumentation equipment (qualifications from E&H or 3rd party specialists preferred)
Experience in teaching the basics of a safe behavior program used during the start-up stage will be highly appreciated. Must have previous experience with HV switching plans.
Computer skills - Microsoft Office and MS Power Point, ABB DriveMonitor package.
Presentation skills, motivation and interactions with staff at all levels of the organization.
