Primary purpose of the role is to ensure that all persons conducting boiler-making work onsite are competent to do so in a safe and efficient manner
Second purpose is to pass on expertise (skills, experience, systems and processes) to the National Trainers so they can become self-sufficient in maintaining a competent workforce ie. Train the trainers.
Ensure appropriate welding and fabrication facilities/equipment, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Conduct assessments on welding and fabrication staff to complete a training needs analysis and then implement an effective functional training matrix.
Identify platter welding and fabrications training needs based on roles within the organization structure.
Develop, maintain and update welding and fabrication training materials.
Monitor the training compliance with the requirements of welding and fabrication trades.
Develop, implement and maintain Safe Operating Procedures, Planned Task Observations and Flash sheets for all major tasks in Welding and Fabrication.
Ensure all relevant training documentation is translated accurately by qualified translators from English into Russian (and Kazak if required)
Train employees in the interpretation of engineering and technical drawings.
Enforce continuous improvement in up-skilling platter welders and boiler makers in dual roles.
Ensure accurate training and competency records are maintained for welding & Fabrication personnel.
Develop and implement facilitator’s manuals, capability assessments and workplace competency assessments in the welding and fabrication section.
Ensure all welding and fabrication operating standards/ procedures are accurate and fully communicated to all Maintenance employees.
Schedule all welding & fabrication skills training, assessments & evaluations.
Assist with incident investigations as and when required.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Line Manager within own competence.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Technical Trade Qualification from recognised Institutions
Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE)
Accredited Trainer & Assessor against a recognized awarding body
Sound knowledge of Profile cutter/ Plasma cutter and MIG welding machines.
An understanding of minerals processing operations and equipment.
An understanding of all maintenance trades.
Competency based training and assessment.
Competent in development of customised training and assessment resources using site, industry and statutory requirements and standards.
Change management process knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.
Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
