1 . Help the kechnical Services Manager to achieve mining and cost targets.
Lead the Mine Engineering team according to their job descriptions (plan, schedule and coordinate long, medium and short term plans).
Close liaison with Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance personnel to ensure rolling production schedules are taken into consideration for planning purposes.
Lead Mine's cost control and budgeting processes, identify areas for cost improvement and ensure that financial objectives are met according to the Mine organization's budget.
Actively lead the budget and forecast development and control on a monthly basis, or as per requested.
Establish and maintain a mine planning system, using planning software, to integrate geological resource models, survey data, geotechnical and hydrogeological information, optimized pit designs, productivity trends, process recoveries to accurately and timely plan mining sequences, development phases and required production targets.
Prepare project proposals, studies and technical reports professionally and in timely manner.
Liaise with contractors and other stakeholders as required on a technical level.
Prepare and make presentations of weekly plans, reports and technical presentations — highlight key activities and ensure that suitable contingencies are available to achieve safe production targets.
Responsible for providing input for unit mining cost calculations and cut off parameters requiered for pit optimization.
1 1 . Accountable for the resourse and reserve calculation and statement.
Responsible for granted the operativeness and profitability of the mine plans
Develop or bring forward industry best practices and new technology.
Deputise for the Technical Services Manager during his absences in collaboration with other team members.
Implement other tasks given by Line manager within own competence.
Aid in the training of the National personnel within the Mine Engineering department in order to meet the nationalization goals of the organization.
Higher techical education with relevant specialization in Mining Engineering or equivalent
10 years of work experience in Senior mine planning functions, preferably with at least 5 years constant exposure to high volume mass open pit mining operations.
Extensive experince in NSR Value Modeing, Multi-Element Pit Optmization using Whittle software, designing of pits and dumps, budget analysis, wall control, dispatch systems, drill and blast design.
Intimate knowledge of computerized mine planning systems (Surpac, Dispatch or MineStar.)
Experience in greenfield projects.
Advanced skills in 3D mine design and scheduling software (Surpac, Datamine, Whittle, NPV Scgheduler, MineSched).
Advanced computer skills in business software such as MIcrosoft Office (excel, MS Project, Power Point, etc.)
Knowledge of the basics of RoK Labor Code, HSE rules and regulations, fire safety requirements.
Driver's license (B category).
Ability to lead presentations and discussions around planning priorities and to maintain composure under stressful situations and make independent decisions.
Highly developed communication, supervisort, coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Advanced English communication skills (write, read and speak).
