Implementation of geotechnical best practices at mining operations to improve safety, productivity and ensure sustainable mine production.
Technical advice & support to mining operations on and as needed basis.
Guide budgeting process and inputs into LOM planning each year
Custody of geotechnical component of growth projects:
Peer-review of mining studies carried out by external consultants
Management advisory on geotechnical aspect of strategic mining options for long-term business planning.
Support and maintain the training and development of the capability of geotechnical teams at mine sites.
Development, maintain and custodian of the Group Ground Control Management Plan and ensure site implementation of site specific ground control management standards.
Custodian of the underground mines roadmap to eliminate rock falls as well as the behavioral based SLAM-NOC system to combat hazardous rock mass conditions at the face and prevent related incidents.
Ensure the site development and optimization of geotechnical and hydrogeological domain models, calibrate the models on real data to ensure long term pit stability
Over inspect via reconciliation to ensure mining practices and planning comply with geotechnical design recommendation and flag deviations
Ensure 3rd party external peer reviews are done to ensure international best practice and local compliance
Continuous monitoring of production site’s geotechnical performance via the review of monthly geotechnical and hydrogeological site reports
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
University Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering or Geology, graduate level degree preferred.
Experience in mine geotechnical engineering no less than 10+ years operational experience, with at least 3 years as lead or superintendent geotechnical engineer. Exposure to open pit and underground hard rock mining .
Expert level knowledge of rock engineering and simulation based design using specialized geotechnical software (Rocscience, Itasca and etc.).
Good knowledge of engineering geology and hydrogeology.
Good knowledge of RoK subsoil and industrial safety legislation.
English and Russian (will be added benefit) language skill required as this position consult and network frequently with international suppliers and consultants
