Develop, implement and lead activities of the maintenance section across both SXEW/ sulphide concentrator plants and site infrastructure.
Coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance of the SXEW, crushing, milling, flotation, thickening and filtration sections, including shutdown scheduling, planning to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
Coordinate through subordinates the maintenance of other fixed assets such as site utilities (air, water, STP, power).
Ability to optimize process production through leadership by direction of staff, communication and coordination with the operations, training and metallurgy groups inside the Concentrator Department; and with external groups including the Mining, HSE, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management and, Finance Departments.
Manage the development of maintenance plans, budgets and schedules.
Manage the execution of maintenance plans and assessment of efficiency and execution improvements.
Manage and implement company safety standards and set expectations at all levels of staff and supporting contractors.
Ensure that the Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance of the concentrator meets the company’s requirements by utilising the highest international standards.
Ensure the safety of all personnel through diligent monitoring of hazards/risks, implementation of the company’s safety policies and controls
Ensure that any safety incidents/accidents are investigated and reported within the agreed time frame, implement regular safety audits and, develop acceptable compliance levels against benchmarks.
Develop the Maintenance planning section to include Work Permit and Bill Of Materials lists for all standard jobs
Develop the workforce to be competent in all areas of maintenance activities.
Recruit the workforce to cover the skills required for efficient operations of the department
Review Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation spare parts inventories to ensure sufficient spare parts are held in stock.
Ensure that all critical spares have been identified and are on site, and that all the recommended vendor spares have been catalogued and added to stores inventory
Ensure all RoK statutory requirements for the site are met in relation to electrical and mechanical systems.
Ensure that effective preventative maintenance and monitoring systems are implemented
Ensure that communications are timely and efficient with regard to staff, senior management and other groups as appropriate.
Work as part of a team to establish and implement departmental policies, objectives and procedures.
Provide leadership for subordinate staff, including activities such as preparing work schedules, preparing job descriptions and assigning specific duties and tasks.
Select, train and develop candidates for subordinate roles with an eye towards those with exceptional talent for promotional and succession planning opportunity.
Lead and mentor the key departmental subordinates to ensure that the operational deliverables are consistently realized within their areas of accountability.
Implement other tasks given by Line manager within own competence.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Higher (or postgraduate) education in the relevant specialty and work experience in the specialty for at least 5 years.
At least 5 years of experience at relevant maintenance managerial roles in Ore Processing Facilities or similar heavy industry including extensive maintenance experience on large crushers and grinding mills.
Experience in managing electrical and instrumentation sections, this requires a working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, SCADA and PLC plant control and Radiation Safety.
Experience in managing planning and asset reliability sections
Practical knowledge in setting up and managing a computerized maintenance system (CMMS), as well as an electronic cost control system in line with the best practices.
Proven experience in managing inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and ensures reorders of spares are effective;
Practical knowledge in strategic and annual planning, budgeting and applications for capital investments.
Capability to lead the team, visible leadership in health, safety and environmental aspects of the business;
Extensive knowledge of Maintenance processes, best practices
Strong financial acumen, including the ability to read and analyze financial and operational reports.
Solid computer skills in business software such as Microsoft Office.
Experience with CMMS software systems such as Ellipse, Oracle or SAP.
Knowledge of the RoK legislative and other normative acts, methodological and other materials relating to plant production and maintenance activities.
Knowledge of the basics of RoK Labor Code, internal work order, HSE rules and regulations and fire safety requirements.
