Bozymchak, our copper and gold open pit mine in Kyrgyzstan, commenced commissioning in 2014 with first copper and gold in concentrate production in the second half of the year. In 2015, Bozymchak mined 449 kt of ore at a copper grade of 0.97%, producing 3.1 kt of copper in concentrate and 17.8 koz of gold in concentrate. The mine’s initial operation will be as an open pit with up to 1 MT of ore extraction per year.
Bozymchak is expected to have an average annual output of 6 kt of copper cathode and 28 koz of gold bar over the life of the mine. The project is forecast to require sustaining capital expenditure of around $10 million in 2016.
